The Dragon Boat Festival And Regimen

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival of our Chinese people. When at this day, we eat rice dumpling, having a dragon boat match, and the most important, to cherish the memory of Qu Yuan, the famous patriotic poet of China.

Well, the Dragon Boat Festival is not only a festival eating and playing. Besides its gigantic significance of Chinese traditional culture, it has some meaning at regimen too.

Take rice dumpling as an example, which is made up of sticky rice.

The property and flavor of sticky rice is sweet and smooth, which is good to stimulate the appetite, facilitate digestion. In other words, it is good to accelerate the function of stomach and spleen.

The leaf which is wrapped rice dumpling is made up of reed leaves or bamboo. Both of these can clearing heat and promoting fluid. In other words, it can make people feel cooler, and remove thirst. Still, bamboo can diuresis and discharge poison outside the body. When summer comes, it is good things to keep body comfortable.

Realgar liquor is a kind of drink we have at the Dragon Boat Festival. Realar is a herbal medicine which has already been recorded in many Chinese medicine books. It can disinfestation and detoxify. When summer comes, germs grow with temperature going on, so drinking realgar liquor can prevent from getting ill by infecting or something like that.

In addition, hanging wormwood can clear air and there is an old saying that hanging wormwood for three year in one’s home can keep the doctors away.

So during festival, we can also remember some regimen methods and we have a good chance to change our life style, to have a rest and keep our body healthier and healthier.
