Parsley

Parsley is a common vegetable in western-style food. It can be used as spice, and it can also be eaten uncooked. Parsley is nourishing because it contains a lot of iron, vitamin A and C.

In ancient Chinese medicine book called Bencaotuichen it said that parsley can cure headache caused by liver-yang hyperactivity, red face and red eyes, top-heavy, walk unsteady and so on. And in Weishengtongxun it said parsley can clear away stomach heat, smooth blood pulse, wet whistle, improve eyesight, make nose unobstructed, brain sober, improve stomach movement, arrest cough and so on. If you are a person with hot constitution, eating parsley is good to your health.

Parsley has some ingredient to lower your blood pressure. Parsley is also helpful to steady mood and reduce fidgety. Eating parsley can also diuresis, prevent from cancer, enrich blood. So eating more if possible.

Mustard Leaf

Synopsis: mustard leaf is the tender stem and leaf of mustard which belongs to cruciferae. It is also called potherb mustard. It is a tonify yang food.

Function: it can do good to lung and eliminating phlegm, warm the body and make qi go smooth.

Indication: cold inside body which lead to excessive water in and cough and phlegm can not be out, chest distress and turgor.

Sparrow Meat

Synopsis: sparrow meat is the meat of sparrow which belongs to Lonchura animal. It is also called sparrow, house sparrow, tile sparrow. It is a tonify yang food.

Function: enhance yang and tonify precreation.

Indication: deficiency of kidney yang, impotence, ejaculatio praecox, sour and cold of waist and knees, frequency of urinatior, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, fluor and so on.

Chicken

Chicken Tonify yang food

Synopsis: chicken is the meat of gallus domestica which belongs to phasianidae animal. In ancient times of China it is called candle in nignt, horn chicken and gallus domestica. Hen and spring chicken is top grade of it as food therapy.

Function: tonify spleen, nourishing blood, tonify kidney and sex ability.

Indication: yang weakness of spleen and stomach, decrease of drinking and eating, pain in belly, vomit and diarrhea, lacking in strength, blood deficiency in liver and spleen, dizzy, bad complexion, latex deficiency after delivering, deficiency of kidney essence, weakness of waist and knees, tingle and deaf, frequency of urinatior, lack and ropy of germ cell.

Shrimp

Synopsis: shrimp is the whole body or meat of many kinds of freshwater shrimp such as shrimp which belongs to long arm shrimp or prawn. It is a tonify yang food.

Function: tonify kidney and germ, tonify blood and reduce dryness of body.

Indication: deficiency of kidney essence, impotence, spermatorrhea, frequency of urinatior, loss of libido, pain and weakness of waist and knee, deficiency of blood and energy, deficiency of milk after delivery or have no milk at all.

Diabetes In Chinese Medicine

Diabetes is a disease with the symptoms of drinking much, eatting much, pee much and weigh less.

In Chinese medicine, it is connected with drinking and eatting too much fat and meat, which makes middle-jiao too hot. That means our body is in bad condition. Another reason is that if people are too angry or too depressed, it can make body in disorder, too. Still, too many sexy activities are bad to our health. That can lead to the deficiency of kidney essence, tough it looks all right, our body is already weaker and weaker.

Yin deficiency and dry and hot is associated with each other. If body fluid lose much, it will definitely turn  to Yin deficiency and as time went by, Yang deficiency will occur sooner or later.

In ancient times of China, alcohol is also a kind of medicine except a kind of beverage.

Alcohol is made of grain and distillers yeast. It smells sweet, tastes spicy, with the functions of restoring blood flow, improving the body, smoothing joints and bones, humidifing the skin, eliminating dampness inside the body. As a result of so many advantages of alcohol, it is called the number one of all drugs. Still, the ancient Chinese character ”medicine” is made up of Chinese character “alcohol”, that means “alcohol” is a part in “medicine”. This demonstarates the close relationship between alcohol and medicine.

Grades of Chinese Herb Medicine

According to the difference of efficacy and capability, Chinese Medicine is made up of three grades.

The top one is called emperor, which is nontoxic or less toxic. Most of this kind of medicine is restorative, which can make people healthier and healthier. Why it is called emperor is that this kind of medicine is just like the emperor who can dominate the world, it can dominate our body. It is more natural than other medicine. Its mainly function is regulate the body with no obvious disease, not treat the body when it is ill.

Origin of Acupuncture

During neolithic times, people learned how to make stonewares of different use. Then a special stone for medical practice only was created, which was the predecessor of acupuncture.

When using fire to keep warm, our ancestor found that heat was good for relieving pain. So they packed heated stones or sandy soil with animal skin and bark, and attach them on some part of the body. This was the original hot compression.

With the improvement of this skill, branch and hay were used as fuel of hot compression. The therapy of heating stimulate for some parts of the body cured many diseases, which was the predecessor of moxibustion, which is the other part of acupuncture.

Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor

Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor includes two parts, one is called Ling Shu(灵枢), and the other is called Su Wen(素问). Each of them has 9 volumes, and each volumes has 9 articles. That means both Ling Shu and Su Wen has 81 articles respectively.

Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor finished during Chunqiu period. It includes the relationship between human and nature, physiology, pathology, diagnose, treatment and prevention.

Su Wen tells us something about viscera and bowels, meridian, etiology and mechanism,symptom,diagnose,treatment and acupuncture.

Ling Shu contains not only almost the same as Su Wen, but it still contains shu point, acpuncture tool, how to acupuncture, and principle of treatment.

Both of the books present the theory of yin-yang and five elments(mental, wood, water, fire and soil).This theory emphasizes the importance of a right time, a proper condition and a good relationship. It shows that our human beings can not live alone without environment.
